Audi Refreshes Q3 SUV for 2017, Introduces New S Line Competition Model

It received a facelift only a year ago, and now it features more modest model year updates

Audi is refreshing its Q3 lineup with subtle exterior tweaks aimed at differentiating more sharply the trim levels and is introducing a new sporty-themed Q3 S Line Competition special edition.

Going on sale in fall 2016, the Audi Q3 2017MY gets a restyled front end in the Sport trim line, with larger outer air inlets, stone gray Singleframe grille, and a body-colored blade beneath the center vent.

The new S Line exterior package also features upgrades such as diamond-pattern inserts in the air inlets, a new strut in the front skirt that divides it into two segments, and high-gloss black finish for the radiator grille and air vents.

Moving on to the Design line, the Q3 features outer air inlets that are now split horizontally, a matt silver tone for the underbody protection, and stone gray finish for the bumpers and wheel arches.

Finally, the new Audi Q3 S Line Competition model builds on the S Line exterior package with black elements on the wheel arches, door trim strips, roof rails, exterior mirror housings, and the window slot trim. At the rear, the roof spoiler and the lower section of the bumper are finished in glossy black while the profile is dominated by gloss-black 19-inch wheels in a 10-Y-spoke design.

Inside, the Q3 S Line Competition's sports seats mix black leather and fabric, with a leather-Alcantara combination and Fine Nappa leather being available as options. Piano black and aluminum trim, stainless steel pedals, and a flat-bottomed, multifunction steering wheel complete the interior changes.

The Q3 S Line Competition also gains standard features such as a sport suspension, Audi drive select dynamic handling system, and a driver information system. The model is available with any engine in the Q3 lineup.

Deliveries for the updated Audi Q3 range start late this year in Europe, with prices starting from €30,100 in Germany.
