Arrives Stateside looking for a brawl

Growling v8 notes introduce the new Jaguar F-Pace SVR to the US market where it’s set to do battle with the likes of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and Audi SQ5.

F-Pace in SVR flavor has more horsepower than any comparably sized rival, thanks to a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with 550 hp and 680 Nm torque; it can catapult itself to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, hitting a top speed of 283 km/h (176 mph).

Unlike its global debut video, the one promoting it for the American market is a bit more… bombastic. It starts with shots of new land being formed by lava dumping into the sea and has a general volcano theme/look about it.

The video’s sound is also worth a mention: it seems as if during its editing process they blended the (clearly dubbed over) V8 engine roar with actual roars. The result is what sounds like two big cats fighting over an exploding island – it’s actually pretty good and makes us eager to get our hands on an F-Pace SVR, take it up to one of our favorite twisty roads.
