As for what’s under the hood, Mazda tells us a new engine is available for the 2019 CX-5. The powerplant is a 2.5-liter turbocharged unit going by the name of SKYACTIV-G 2.5T that’s been recently adopted by the 2018 Mazda 6.

It delivers 250 hp on 93-octane fuel (227 on 87-octane gasoline) and 310 lb-ft of torque available from 2,000 rpm. Paired to the powerplant is a six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic gearbox with a torque converter.

Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus setup is available on all 2019 CX-5 trim levels in the States, says Mazda, together with a retuned suspension setup and tweaked steering geometry.
