2015 Nissan Navara NP300: Official European Specs and Pictures

The new generation Navara, now dubbed “NP300”, promises best-in-class dimensions for the load bed

The new generation Nissan Navara, now dubbed the “Navara NP300”, is ready for the European market after it has been shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.

The completely redesigned pick-up sports Nissan’s “V-Motion” grille, more muscular shapes all-around, and an upgrade in the tech department.

The Double Cab body style has a load bed that’s 67 mm longer than the model it replaces, with a best-in-class length of 1,578 mm while the King Cab Model has a load bed that measures 1,788 mm in length.

There’s a more upscale interior, with fittings that resemble those in the X-Trail and Qashqai crossovers, and that’s a very good thing in the truck segment. Nissan says the seats are now more comfortable than before, and that you can get tech like Cruise Control, Hill Descent Control and Forward Emergency Braking.

Under the skin, the 2015 Navara NP300 Double Cab gets a new five-link suspension setup for the rear axle which ditches the old-school leaf springs for more modern coils. The King Cab keeps the leaf springs, but now they’re about 7 kg lighter than before.

This  pick-up is powered by a new 2.3-litre dCi diesel engine, available in two power levels – a single-turbo 160 PS (158 hp) unit and a twin-turbo 190 PS (187 hp) unit. Nissan claims they’re 24 percent more efficient than before, and the cleanest in the pick-up segment.

With this new engine, the new Navara has payload ratings that exceed one ton across the range, and the towing capacity is rated at 3,500 kg. There are two transmissions available – a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic.
