Ford Mustang GT and EcoBoost Owners Can Order and Install Ford’s Latest Performance Power Pack

If you own a new Ford Mustang, then Christmas arrives early

Despite the recent drop in sales which allowed the Chevrolet Camaro to outsell the Mustang for the first time in 23 months, Ford is doing its thing when it comes to performance upgrades.

FoMoCo has been cooking a new performance power pack for the new Mustang, but it only targets V8- and EcoBoost-powered models.

For the 2.3-liter Mustang EcoBoost, Ford offers a calibration kit that bumps both the power and the torque output. As a result, torque goes up by 70 lb-ft to 390 lb-ft while the engine delivers 335 hp, which is a peak 25 hp gain compared to the standard model.

The V8-powered Mustang GT can be treated with three different performance packages. Level one brings peak gains of 13 hp and 16 lb-ft, level two offers a peak of 21 hp and 24 lb-ft while level three moves the five-oh's redline to 7,500 rpm for a boost of 37 hp for a grand total of 472 hp.

According to Ford, the packs are compatible with both the manual and the automatic transmission and can be ordered via the Ford Performance Parts website.
