Jeep Bets on Luxury with 2017 Grand Cherokee Summit

Jeep’s flagship model gets a new luxurious trim called Summit for the 2016 New York Auto Show

The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers more luxury with the launch of the new Summit trim level, unveiled at the 2016 New York Auto Show. The highlights of the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit are a more stylish exterior package, a plush new leather interior, and added standard features.

Boldly described by Jeep as "the most luxurious vehicle in the full-size SUV segment," the Grand Cherokee Summit sports an upgraded exterior design package including an updated front fascia, grille and LED fog lamps, as well as new 20-inch polished aluminum wheels.

The interior is available in four color schemes and is fully wrapped in Laguna leather, including the dashboard, center console, door panels, and the seats that feature edge welting.

The list of standard equipment is extensive and includes a premium suede headliner, lighted door sills, acoustic windshield and full side glass, Active Noise Cancellation, Berber carpet mats and a Harman/Kardon 19-speaker, 825-watt amp audio system with three subwoofers.

There's more: the 2017 Grand Cherokee Summit also packs auto-folding power mirrors, headlamp washers, Blind Spot Detection, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and, for the first time, Lane Departure Warning and Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist.

Luxury goes well with off-roading, so Summit models offer as standard Jeep's Quadra-Drive II 4×4 system with ELSD, as well as Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Speed Control. The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit will arrive in U.S. dealerships in late summer.
