For those who went through the displeasure of being sent a rejection letter signed by FoMoCo, here's something to cheer you up: Ford will grant its $400,000 GT another two years of production.
This means the carbon-fiber Ford GT will be produced throughout an extended period of four years. And while the letters sent to the unlucky applicants left an open door for a future production addendum, it's now official that Ford will produce additional cars.
'While we can’t build enough Ford GTs for everyone who has applied, we are going to produce additional vehicles in an effort to satisfy more of our most loyal Ford ambassadors. We want to keep Ford GT exclusive, but at the same time we know how vital this customer is to our brand.'

According to Ford, the cars produced in the third year of production will go to applicants placed on the waiting list. Subsequently, the fourth year of production will focus on those who missed the initial application timeframe.
Therefore, Ford will begin accepting application in 2018. So far, they received 6,505 applications but only selected 500 lucky future owners, as the GT's production is limited to just 250 units per year.
