Founded in 1949 by Carlo Abarth, a renowned Italian car designer and racing driver, Abarth is currently an independent unit within Fiat Group Automobiles specialized in the production and sale of sporty passenger cars.
Abarth is based in a Mirafiori complex in Turin, Italy. Its logo is a Scorpio, inspired by Carlo's astrological sign. Current Abarth models include Abarth 595, 595C, 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione, Abarth 695 Biposto, and Abarth 124 Spider.
An important part of the Abarth legacy is the manufacturing and sales of performance upgrade kits.
