Renault Sport teases upcoming Renault Mégane RS on Facebook

No official info yet, just the run-of-the-mill visual teasing

Renault Sport took to Facebook in an attempt to stir our anticipation once again with a set of winterish photos of the upcoming Mégane RS.

As you can see, the go-fast hot hatch is well into the developmental phase, and while technical details are still out of reach, the camo’ed body leaves enough room for discussion.

From what we can tell, the Renault Mégane RS will feature LED headlights, but that’s the least exciting feature of Renault’s hardcore track toy. At the back, the oversized diffuser houses a mid-mounted trapezoidal exhaust, and there’s a pair of air vents up front, with each air-sucking opening positioned behind the fenders.

It’s a bummer we don’t get to see the interior yet, as this area will also feature Renault Sport’s racing-bred goodies – seats, steering wheel, gear lever and the lot. Speaking of gears, Renault let it slip that customers can select their weapon of choice from a manual gearbox and a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Previous rumors talked about the French carmaker looking to squeeze 300 hp under the hood, sent to the front wheels by a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. But so far, les French have been hush-hush on any details of the kind.
