2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition Is The Series’ Swan Song

This is the final chance to get your hands on a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

It’s called Final Edition for a reason, as it marks the end of the legendary Lancer Evo nameplate.

Offered in a production run of 1,600 units in the United States, each marked by a numbered plaque, the 2015 Lancer Evolution Final Edition has a MSRP of $37,995. Based on the current GSR model, the limited edition Lancer Evo features unique exterior and interior enhancements.

The 2015 Lancer Final Edition adopts a more sinister look thanks to exterior upgrades such as the Final Edition badge in the rear, black painted aluminum roof, dark chrome painted Enkei alloy wheels, gloss black center bumper and hood air outlet and dark chrome front grille surround. Customers will be able to order the car in four colors: new Pearl White, Rally Red, Mercury Gray and Octane Blue.

Interior enhancements consist of a numbered plaque on the center console, black headliner, pillars, sun visors and assist handles, as well as red accent stitching for the sport seats, steering wheel, shift knob, console lid, floor mats and e-brake handle.

Fans will be thrilled to learn that the 2015 Lancer Evolution Final Edition also brings technical upgrades. The turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine produces 303 hp at 6,500 rpm and 305 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, accounting for an improvement of 12 hp and 5 lb-ft over the GSR model. It may not be much, but it’s enough for the Final Edition to qualify as the most powerful mass-production Lancer Evolution ever built.

The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission which sends power to all four wheels via Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel control system. Other performance upgrades include lightweight two-piece Brembo brake rotors up front, as well as Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs on all four wheels.
