2015 Subaru Levorg, official photos and specs

Subaru is making a move on the UK market with the 2015 Levorg, the spiritual successor of the Subaru Legacy Tourer

In case you are wondering how on Earth did Subaru come up with that name, here's the answer: Levorg stands for "LEgacy, reVOlution, touRinG".

That being said, let's start with the beating heart under the hood. Here, Subaru mounted a newly developed 1.6-liter DIT (direct injection turbo) boxer petrol engine in charge with delivering 170 horsepower and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of max torque. Yes, that's the same figure as found in the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter mill from Subaru, but you'll have to consider the new turbo mill is 36% smaller.

The engine is mated to a Lineatronic CVT gearbox and this duo allows the Subaru Levorg to sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.9 seconds. Fuel consumption is rated at 40 mpg for the combined cycle while other mechanical amenities include Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and a torque vectoring feature.

Only one trim level will be available in the UK, but Subaru made sure it comes with a hefty equipment list. For example, you can fit the 2015 Levorg with auto on-off LED headlamps, 18-inch dark grey allow wheels, a bespoke leather heated sport seats in the front and a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment and navigation systems.

The boot offers 522 liters of cargo space, but you can extend those to a generous 1,446 liters by folding down the 60/40 reclining back seats. As far as the price tag is concerned, those interested in buying the 2015 Subaru Levorg will have to settle for a starting sticker of £27,495, or $42,840 at current exchange rates.
