2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron Bags Mild Update and Virtual Cockpit

Tech savvy would be a good way of describing it

Audi of America doesn't leave anyone behind and after the revamping of the A3 and S3, it was high time for the A3 Sportback e-tron to join the facelifted ranks.

So, what's so interesting about a plug-in hybrid Audi A3? One answer could come right from the customers as the company claims that "13 percent of all A3 sales being comprised of e-tron sales."

Other than that, the 2017MY comes with an extended array of standard pieces of equipment including an otherwise useful rearview camera, LED DRLs, and a panoramic sunroof. On the safety side, customers get Audi's pre sense basic and pre sense front features.

There's also a Sport package serving the egos of the more demanding buyers with a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel, 18-inch Turbine design rims and front sport seats.

The icing on the cake for the revised A3 Sportback e-tron remains the Virtual Cockpit setup comprising a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument panel which displays additional info regarding the hybrid electric-petrol powertrain.

Speaking of which, there's nothing new under the sun in this department, as the same 1.4-liter TFSI petrol unit working in tandem with a permanent magnet-driven electric motor for an overall output of 204 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Three trim levels are available for the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron – Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige – priced from $38,900, $42,000 and $47,550 respectively, without considering the $950 destination charge and other taxes.
