2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Launch Edition Priced from $33,850 in the U.S.

You need to hurry up if you want one of the 1,000 limited edition MX-5 RFs

Mazda has announced pricing for the 2017 MX-5 Miata RF Launch Edition in the United States and has opened preorders, giving priority to loyal customers.

The Launch Edition of the Miata's retractable fastback model starts from $33,850 for the SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual and $34,925 for models with the six-speed automatic transmission. Prices do not include a $835 destination and handling charge ($880 in Alaska).

The preorder website MX5RFPreorder.com went live on September 26 at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT, allowing customers to place a $500 refundable deposit on the MX-5 RF Launch Edition. Priority is given to loyal Mazda buyers, who have been sent invitations with a personalized code giving them a limited window of time to preorder the car and choose their preferred dealer.

Based on the Grand Touring level of the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF, the Launch Edition features a Machine Gray Metallic paint color, a hand-painted black roof panel, and Auburn Nappa leather interior trim.

All MX-5 RF Launch Editions will feature bespoke doorsill plates and Advanced Keyless Entry (the latter of which will be an option on regular MX-5 RF models with manual transmission). The only decision MX-5 RF Launch Edition customers will have to make is to go for the manual or automatic transmission. Buyers will also receive a custom-designed, serialized 42mm Tourneau watch.

Deliveries of the MX-5 RF Launch Edition will begin in February 2017 and continue through the spring.
