The mystery is solved regarding the second model to receive the Maybach “blessing”
Visitors at the Los Angeles Auto Show will witness the world debut of the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet, the most luxurious model in the convertible S-Class' lineup.
Debuting on November 16 at the LA Auto Show, the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet appears to have the same wheelbase as standard S-Class Cabriolet models, unlike the Mercedes-Maybach S 500, S 600, and S 600 Pullman sedans that feature a longer wheelbase than the regular S-Class models.
Judging from the S 650 moniker power should be supplied by a V12 engine, but Mercedes did not release any details about the powertrain other than an average fuel consumption of 12 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 272 g/km (in German specification).
The teaser video lets us see a redesigned front bumper with lots of chrome, the Mercedes-Maybach badge on the front fenders, rear deck, and seats, as well as the "1 of 300" plaque on the center tunnel — a pretty strong hint we're dealing with a limited edition model.
We'll learn more about the S 650 Cabriolet when it debuts in LA on November 16.
