It’s the safety technology that does the trick
Implying that the 2017 Nissan Rogue holds intergalactic crash-protection abilities is ambitious, even when you've got a Star Wars-themed commercial to back that up.
But hey, it's the year 2016 and we have Photoshop, special effects, and enough CGI know-how to make anything look real.
Like, for example, a Nissan Rogue dodging laser beams, explosions, firing AT-ST Walkers and a stampede of AT-AT Walkers which still manages to come to a halt just in time to avoid turning a pedestrian droid into tuna can material.
While only half-a-minute long, the ad wants to put an emphasis on Nissan's safety feature bundle called Intelligent Safety Shield, which includes forward emergency braking and pedestrian detection aptitudes.
