2018 Chevrolet Corvette gets Carbon 65 Edition as birthday present

The limited edition Vette gains many carbon fiber parts

Following a debut at the NY Auto Show, Chevrolet marks the 65th anniversary of the Corvette at the 2017 SEMA Show with a new Carbon 65 Edition offered on 2018 Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ models.

Available in only 650 units worldwide, the 2018 Corvette Carbon 65 combines an array of carbon fiber exterior elements with a new Ceramic Matrix Gray exterior color and special interior trim.

The Carbon 65 Edition package brings many carbon fiber exterior parts including ground effects, hood section, roof (tonneau inserts for the Convertible models), spoiler, quarter intake ducts, and mirror caps. Inside, the Carbon 65 Edition features a Jet Black suede-wrapped cabin with blue stitching, a carbon fiber steering wheel rim, gloss carbon fiber trim, and Competition Sport seats.

The limited edition Corvette's distinctive appearance is also due to the exclusive fender stripes and door graphics, black wheels with machined grooves, and blue brake calipers.

The Carbon 65 Edition will be available this summer for $15,000, along with the rest of the 2018 Corvette lineup. By the way, Chevrolet has also made some changes in the 2018 Corvette range.

There are some new standard and optional wheel designs, a revised interior color breakup on 2LT trim, a standard HD digital radio, and an improved rear-view camera image. Chevrolet also has introduced Magnetic Ride Control as a stand-alone option.

Sounds great, but you might want to wait for the next-generation Corvette C8, rumored to start production in late January 2018.
