You’ll never guess what SUP stands for, though

As is the case with many of the so-called "concepts" automakers bring to the SEMA Show every year, the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse SUP Concept is nothing but a production car fitted with some official accessories.

So what's with the SUP in the name, you ask? Well, Chevy is dedicating this custom Traverse to one of the fastest-growing water sports — stand up paddleboarding.

The highlight of the Traverse SUP is the roof-mounted Chevrolet Accessories Stand Up Paddleboard Carrier by Thule which holds a Riviera Paddlesurf paddleboard.

Styling-wise, the SUV also features unique Blue Wave bodyside graphics and yellow stripes, as well as Dark Gray fascias, rocker panels, and wheel opening trim. Other exterior design tweaks include the Gloss Black bodyside molding and fog lamp bezels.

The Traverse SUP showcases an array of Chevrolet Accessories such as the black 20-inch aluminum wheels, black grille insert, and bowtie emblems, assist steps, illuminated sill plates at the front, integrated cargo liner, and embroidered headrests, among other things.
