2018 Dodge Durango SRT High-Performance SUV Spied

Don’t expect it to get the 707 hp Hellcat engine, though

Dodge’s three-row, seven-seater crossover has received several updates since the 2011 debut, but none of them included the acronym all Dodge fans yearned for. Following the announcement that the Challenger will come as a Demon, there's more good news for fans of fast Dodges: the Durango will soon wear the SRT moniker. The long-rumored Durango SRT recently was caught testing on public roads, hinting at the fact it is ready to face the world.

As the spy shots reveal, the front fascia will be tweaked considerably — it will feature larger air intakes, most probably, for more efficient engine and brake cooling. Although petrolheads hoped for a 707-hp Hellcat V8-powered Durango, the SRT will most definitely use Jeep Grand Cherokee’s 475-hp, 470 pound-feet of torque 6.4-liter HEMI V8 unit.

The 2018 Durango SRT will be unveiled at the upcoming 2017 New York Auto Show.
