2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition takes brand’s pickups upscale

Ram’s 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks undergo a luxury diet

Upscale pickup trucks are becoming increasingly popular in the United States, and it's only natural for Ram to want a piece of that pie.

The FCA brand tries to do that with a new top-of-the-line trim called Limited Tungsten Edition, which packs an array of features including premium materials, new equipment, and a more upscale exterior treatment.

Based on the Limited grade, the Tungsten Edition can be recognized thanks to its Tungsten Chrome grille with large Ram lettering, a sport hood (only for the 1500), black surround for the headlamps borrowed from the Sport model, body-color Ram lettering on the tailgate, and Tungsten Chrome accents and badging. Exterior upgrades also include the unique Satin-painted Limited wheels.

Inside, the Tungsten Edition adds a Light Greystone suede headliner (a first in the truck segment), "Natura Plus" Frost and Indigo-colored premium leather throughout the cabin, as well as real wood interior trim and Indigo-colored carpet with rubber floor mats.

The 2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition also brings significant content upgrades. Those include air suspension (1500 only), 8.4-inch Uconnect radio with navigation, heated steering wheel, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, power adjustable pedals with memory, back-up camera, remote start, and RamBox (Heavy Duty, 6-foot, 4-inch bed only).

The Tungsten Edition can be ordered for Ram 1500, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 single- and dual-rear-wheel; Crew Cab and Mega Cab (Heavy Duty); four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive; and short- and long-wheelbase models.

Available colors include Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black Crystal, Delmonico Red Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Maximum Steel Metallic (1500 only), Pearl White and True Blue Pearl.

Deliveries will begin in the third quarter of 2017, with prices starting from $55,120 for the 2018 Ram 1500 Limited Tungsten Edition.
