2018 Renault Mégane R.S. sort of debuts in Monaco

It’s a first appearance, so to say

With Nico Hülkenberg behind the wheel, Renault's hot 2018 Mégane R.S. made a short appearance in Monaco, some good months before it takes the stage at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The moment was chosen to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Renault's Formula 1 engagement.

"We aim to make all-new Mégane R.S. the new compact sports car benchmark."

Patrice Ratti, Managing Director of Renault Sport Cars

Together with the press blurb come new details about the hot hatch.

For starters, sales kick-off in spring 2018, but the highlight lies in the fact that for the first time, customers can choose between a manual and an EDC dual-clutch transmission.

So far, that's everything Renault wants us to know on the new Mégane Renault Sport, which will face stern competition from the likes of 2018 Honda Civic Type-R and the 350-horsepower Ford Focus RS.
