It’s an all-American hybrid hypercar mainly motivated by a supercharged V8

Aria is better known in the automotive trade for building prototypes for other manufacturers, but now it’s trying its hand at making its own vehicle and it's a hybrid hypercar which just debuted at the 2017 LA auto show.

Its first attempt is the 2019 Aria FXE hybrid, a carbon fiber monocoque monster that uses both a 6.2-liter V8 and additional electric oomph (from a dual motor front e-axle) to achieve a combined power output of 1,150 hp – the battery pack can hold 10 kWh. Its gearbox is a seven-speed dual-clutch with obligatory paddle shifters and manual mode.

This is claimed to send the FXE to sixty in 2.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 210 mph / 338 km/h.

The company behind it made it clear that its aim with the FXE was to challenge similar vehicles from Europe coming from established manufacturers. A less extreme, non-hybrid version is also planned, called FE, but its specs have not yet been provided – it will probably make do without the electric boost, so its output will probably be 720 hp.

Planned production run for both the FE and FXE is for 400 units; prices have yet to be announced.
