Dark Highland Green or Shadow Black: that is the question

Ford has only shown us the 2019 Mustang Bullitt in the Dark Highland Green exterior paint so far, but brand aficionados know the limited edition pony car is also available to order in a Shadow Black paintwork.

Those are, in fact, the only colors available on the 2019 Mustang Bullitt, and these spy shots are the first to show what the Bullitt looks like in Shadow Black.

It may be just us, but the car looks more menacing and mean in black, and that's also due to the unique black grille and the black multi-spoke alloy wheels that have a different design than the torque-thrust 19-inch rims showcased in the official photos fitted to the Dark Highland Green car.

It's safe to say most buyers will get the 2019 Bullitt in green as that's the color of the original 1968 model, but it's reassuring to see that the modern Bullitt looks good in black too. Having it in Shadow Black might make your 2019 Mustang Bullitt more exclusive.

Regardless of the color buyers will choose, the 2019 Bullitt features a retuned 5.0-liter V8 engine from the Mustang GT that packs 480 hp and 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of torque. Powertrain upgrades include a performance open air intake, Shelby GT350 intake manifold, a larger 87-mm throttle body, and unique powertrain control module calibrations. The Bullitt also features a fully active black NitroPlate quad-tip exhaust for a more exciting soundtrack.

Performance-wise, all we know is the 2019 Mustang Bullitt can hit 163 mph (262 km/h), making it eight mph (13 km/h) faster than the Mustang GT it's based on. The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt will arrive in Ford dealerships across the United States this summer priced from $46,595 (excluding a $900 destination and delivery charge).
