2019 Kia Sorento priced from $25,990, offers seven seats as standard

The standard seven-seat layout is definitely worth the $90 base price hike

Kia has released pricing information for its updated 2019 Sorento SUV, which comes with subtle visual updates and more equipment over the previous model year. The 2019 Sorento comes in five trim levels (L, LX, EX, SX, and SX-Limited), with prices starting from $25,990 for the front-wheel-drive L model.

For the money, customers get a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 185 hp, mated to a revised six-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels. Notable new standard features include seven seats (all trims get it by default), and a new 7-inch touchscreen audio head unit.

The better-equipped Sorento LX starts at $27,490 (FWD)/$29,290 (AWD), and can also be had with a 290-hp 3.3-liter V6 engine that gains an eight-speed automatic transmission for 2019. The Sorento LX V6 starts at $31,290 (FWD)/$33,090 (AWD).

Moving up in the range, the Sorento EX builds upon the LX V6 with new projection fog lights, Driver Attention Warning, and Lane Keeping Assist. Available features include Parking Distance Warning – Forward (PDW-F), an AVN 5.0 navigation system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. The Sorento EX starts at $35,590 (FWD)/$37,390 (AWD).

Starting at $39,990 (FWD)/$41,790 (AWD), the Sorento SX includes all of the new features of the EX and adds the AVN 5.0 navigation system, Harman Kardon audio system, two-way powered lumbar support for the front passenger seat, a wireless phone charger, and Parking Distance Warning – Forward (PDW-F). The SX also offers access to optional features such as the LED headlights with High Beam Assist (HBA) and Low Beam Assist (LBA).

Finally, the range-topping Sorento SXL comes loaded with all the new additions to the SX, adding standard features such as LED headlights with High Beam Assist (HBA), Low Beam Assist (LBA) and LED fog lights, among other things. The SX-L starts at $44,690 (FWD)/$46,490 (AWD).

Besides the Sorento L, all trim levels offer the option of a Magna Dynamax intelligent AWD system that features a 50/50 locking center differential and torque vectoring.
