The Touareg V8 TDI is Germany’s most powerful diesel SUV

Volkswagen will be displaying the Touareg V8 TDI at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Here’s what you need to know.

Inside the Touareg, the 4-liter V8 makes 310 kW (421 PS, 415 hp) and supercar-like 900 Nm of torque unleashed between 1,000 and 3,250 rpm.

0-100 km/h (62 mph) happens in 4.9 seconds, while top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). Oh, and VW says the V8 is compliant with Euro-6d-TEMP emission standards.

Standard features include an air suspension setup, stainless steel pedals, 19-inch Tirano wheels and an electrically operated boot lid.

This goes without saying, but we’ll mention it anyway – on the inside, the Touareg V8 TDI can be fitted with the optional Innovision Cockpit which combines a 12-inch instrument cluster and a 15-inch infotainment screen.

Also inside, VW went for wood inserts and aluminum which adorn the cabin, but customers can also pick two cabin packages, namely Elegance and Atmosphere.

No word on pricing yet, but the Touareg V8 TDI is set to make market debut in May, so we’ll know more around that time.
