Cadillac will sell the 2020 XT6 globally, so it must be good at multitasking
At NAIAS 2019 Cadillac will officially introduce the 2020 XT6 three-row SUV, which the company hopes to turn into a cash cow.
One of the Detroit Auto Show 2019 debuts, the 2020 Cadillac XT6 promises a V6 engine and a comprehensive list of technology and comfort-inducing amenities.
Powertrain
The DOHC V6 displaces 3.6 liters and is estimated to churn out 310 hp (231 kW) and 271 lb-ft (373 Nm) routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift and Active Fuel Management tech. What the latter basically does is shut down two cylinders, allowing the engine to operate as a V4.
AWD is standard on the XT6 Sport (which also gets Continuous Damping Control), but can also be had as an optional feature on the Premium Luxury trim.
Technology
Cadillac is not neglecting the importance of a hefty tech pack in today’s cars. That’s why the 2020 XT6 features an infotainment system that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 15-watt wireless charging, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and updated navigation.
Users can also create profiles and store them in the Cloud6. Other amenities include a new rotary controller, six USB ports (two for each row of seats) and one-touch phone pairing.
On the safety front, standard assist features include the likes of Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. On demand, customers can get Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist with Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Night Vision and HUD.
