2020 Lincoln Aviator debuts with 400-hp V6, imposing looks
Here to rewrite the coding for premium SUVs
Lincoln has taken the wraps off the new Aviator SUV right on the catwalk provided by the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The three-row SUV offers available all-wheel drive and two powertrain choices: one hybrid and one centered around an ICE.
The latter involves a turbocharged 3-liter V6 mill twinned with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. Power output is expected to reach 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque “for effortless acceleration.”
For the hybrid version, Lincoln predicts a total power output of 450 hp and 600 lb-ft of twist.
Cabin-wise, the 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster can be configured according to the user’s taste or needs.
Five driving modes are offered - Normal, Conserve, Excite, Slippery and Deep Conditions. They are joined by the likes of Pure EV and Preserve EV, for a tailored use of the electrified resources.
In addition, Lincoln says you can use your smartphone instead of a traditional car key to open the doors and drive away in the Aviator.
Also on the tech front, Lincoln is offering a 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System which “recreates an authentic concert-hall experience.”
Moreover, the front seats allow for 30-way adjustability, plus massage and additional lumbar support.
