Alpina B4 S Edition 99 is your exclusive, limited-run, go-fast choice

Slightly more power and some ambiance tweaks really do the trick

Alpina Automobiles has taken the wraps off what it calls the B4 S BiTurbo Edition 99, a limited edition available in both coupé and convertible guise.

Working together with Akrapoviç, Alpina was able to squeeze 12 hp more out of the inline-six engine, which now makes 452 hp (332 kW) and a hefty 680 Nm of torque available between 3,000 and 4,500 rpm.

Handling these burdens, if we can call them that, is an eight-speed Switchtronic gearbox that helps the Alpina B4 S Edition 99 reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 3.9-4.3 seconds. Top speed is rated at 303-306 km/h, depending on the body type and the coupé can be had with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The Akrapoviç-provided titanium exhaust system is 7 kg lighter than a steel variant and the weight-saving route is completed by a set of 20-inch Alpina Classic forged aluminum wheels.

Inside, Alpina offers a plethora of options, including piano black trim, but if that’s not enough, customers can get the really good stuff represented by the Alcantara Anthracite or Carbon Leather interior trim options.

For the coupé, Alpina provides multi-contour clubsport seats with extra side support.

Only 99 units will be made, but the order books are now open and Alpina is shipping worldwide. Expect deliveries to kick off in the second quarter of 2019.
