Audi announces the availability of its S6 and S7 with a diesel powertrain assisted by mild-hybrid tech.

The 3-liter V6 TDI unit is joined by an electric-powered compressor for a system output of 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft) available between 2,500 and 3,100 rpm.

The mild-hybrid system allows the S6 and S7 to coast for up to 40 seconds. Audi says that a fuel consumption reduction of 0.4 liters is possible in real driving conditions, with the average being 6.2-6.5 liters/100 km.

The two models also get the S sport suspension that offers damping control as standard. In the S6, it lowers the body by 20 mm (0.8 in). In the S7, the body can be lowered by 10 mm (0.4 in).
