BMW sharpens up the 6 Series GT with M Performance accessories

It doesn’t change the fact that it’s a big hatchback, though

Less than a month after the official reveal of the all-new 6 Series Gran Turismo, BMW has already released a series of M Performance parts aimed at making the big hatchback look more dynamic than in stock guise.

Available at the 6 Series GT's market launch in November 2017, the new retrofit BMW M Performance Parts cover areas like the drive, suspension, exterior, and cabin, with the automaker saying they improve both the looks and the driving characteristics.

On the outside, the 6 Series Gran Turismo gets a high-gloss black BMW M Performance kidney grille as well as black trim bars of the air flap control for a more dynamic look. The carbon-fiber exterior mirror caps, matt black and gray trim, as well as the BMW M Performance Frozen Black foil, contribute as well to the more aggressive appearance, as do the 21-inch light alloy wheels with a two-level double-spoke design and the exhaust silencer system made of stainless steel. Depending on engine type and equipment, the silencer features either round or trapezoid tailpipe trims in chrome or carbon fiber.

Handling-wise, the 21-inch wheels are said to sharpen up the 6 Series GT (nothing is said about ride comfort, though), while the sport braking system with vented, perforated brake discs allows the driver to drive the car harder for longer while improving the visual impact thanks to the red calipers.

As for the cabin, the 6 Series GT can be accessorized with BMW M Performance sports steering wheels and BMW M Performance foot mats.
