BMW Spices Up 5 Series Touring With M Performance Styling and Power Upgrades

Who says wagons can’t be exciting to look at?

BMW has released a series of M Performance accessories for the 5 Series Touring that enhance both the styling and the performance of the German premium wagon.

Available from the market launch of the new 5 Series Touring, the list of accessories includes a power bump for the 540i xDrive Touring, which gets an additional 34 hp and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of torque for a total of 355 hp (360 PS) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft).

The automaker also offers the BMW M Performance exhaust system as a separate accessory both for the 540i xDrive Touring and the 530i Touring. There's also a BMW M Performance diesel exhaust system available for the 530d Touring, 530d xDrive Touring, and 520d Touring.

The stainless steel sports silencer comes with either round or trapezoid tailpipe trims in chrome or carbon fiber.

The BMW M Performance sports brake system is said to shorten braking distances, while the 20-inch light alloy wheels improve the styling.

There's also an array of styling accessories available, ranging from carbon fiber attachment parts for the front bumper to a dual-section diffuser insert for the rear apron, carbon fiber mirror caps, black radiator grille, side sill stickers, and accent strips.

Interior accessories include the BMW M Performance sports steering wheel with an Alcantara rim, silver-grey cross-stitch seam and red central marking at 12 o'clock.
