BMW Z4 Has Been Quietly Pulled Out of Production

So long, old roadster friend!

The Z4 roadster has been with us for quite some time now, and BMW decided it's time to end it.

First generation was launched in 2002, and then a second iteration was released in 2009. BMW has confirmed that the Z4 production will be stopped at the end of August.

BMW Z4 was a competent roadster, with nice six-cylinder engines, but the age started to leave its mark. And the competition is tougher than ever since the likes of Jaguar F-Type, Porsche 718 Boxster and Audi TT joined the roadster party.

Moreover, BMW needs to clear the way for the new model. A successor is already in the works, and it will be the first car born from the new BMW-Toyota partnership. It is referred as the Z5, although this name it's not confirmed. There is also a strong possibility that this model will also become the new Toyota Supra. The new roadster will probably come with four and six-cylinder engines.
