The self-monitoring tech is a blast, spawning app after app in an evergrowing market; and this is just the beginning. By 2022, this market will approach $71.9 billion.

"In today's world, people are using health, finance and even sleep monitoring apps to help improve their lifestyle and well-being. Bringing Buick Smart Driver services, into the myBuick app can help our customers become more aware of their driving behaviors and improve as necessary," senior manager of Buick Connected Services Steve Samolinski said.

Buick Smart Driver became available to users in May 2016, since when more than 210,000 drivers signed up for this service. my Buick app now tells you not only how many miles you've done recently, or what are you average mpg and mph ratings. The app will also tell you how many times you've squished the brake or the acceleration. Moreover, it'll show you high-speed driving and late-night driving percentages. Besides your overall Smart Driver score shown in this app, you'll get tips on how to become better at driving.
