It may sound steep, but there isn’t another A310 like it in the world
Few cars can match the Alpine A310 for looking like a sports car from the 1980s, and mint examples are fetching good prices these days… probably partly because their rear-engined, rear-driven platform made them prone to oversteering into a pole around every corner. Thre is, however, one example that was hardly ever driven and preserved by Renault in Dieppe for over 20 years, until 2005.
Now the car, which is painted an ‘80s brown that has since gone out of and then back into fashion, is advertised for €85,000 nonnegotiable price. It apparently has done only 161 km since new and the seller isn’t interested in any offers below that – in the ad he specifically asks potential punters to not call just to tell him the price is too steep.
It’s rare to find a time capsule like this over three decades after it was made, and while the price may seem absurd to some, there will be that one collector willing to pay in full in order to experience this A310.
