Camouflaged Lamborghini Urus does the Ring thing

Sounds a bit uninspiring, though

Lamborghini’s Urus, the company’s second ever SUV, is set to be revealed this year so the model is really far along in its development cycle. Prototypes have been spotted on the Nurburgring Nordschleife for months now, and now here’s one of those prototypes on video.

The Urus employs the a derivative of the platform used to underpin the Audi Q7 or Porsche Cayenne, but it will have to feel sportier than both those models in order for it to be perceived as a unique model.

Based on this video, though, its engine note leaves a bit to be desired – it’s mostly turbo boominess and some hint that a V6 or V8 hides under its bonnet. Frankly, to my ears it sounds like a diesel with a trick exhaust.

One power plant it will most certainly have is the Audi-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, as well as some electrification too. In fact, the vehicle in the video might be purported hybrid variant, hence its quietness.
