It’s reportedly ready for production and can be had in three power output versions

Techrules is showing off its second car at a Geneva motor show, after last year it revealed the GT96 supercar. This year they’ve brought something considerably less conventional, both in the way it looks (and allows you to get aboard) and in terms of chosen power plant.

Called Techrules Ren, it’s a range extender that uses a diesel turbine to recharge a battery pack that feeds two, four or six electric motors depending on which version is chosen. It will be available with 435 hp, 870 hp and 1,305 hp respectively based on the number of motors it runs.
Battery pack capacity for each goes up as well, from 14 kWh to 25 kWh to 32 kWh in the most potent version.

Looking at the car’s exterior, you’ll undoubtedly first notice the jet fighter-like rising canopy which is split into three distinct ‘bubbles’. Prospective buyers will eventually be able to specify how many of these they want, so not all models will be the same – production is slated for next year, with no more than 100 units to be made.
Its design and styling are the work of Georgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio and that probably explains part of why the Ren is actually not bad to look at.
