Citroen’s New C3 Is a Case of “Honey, I Shrunk the Cactus!”

But it’s not all about the look, as it comes with more tech and turbo-only engines

Citroen is back on the bold design train for its core range with the reveal of the new C3 subcompact. The vehicle obviously borrows the styling language of the quirky C4 Cactus, yet refines the formula, making it more palatable for more people.

Regarding the look, the front end fascia looks very similar in its layout and detailing to that of the Cactus, although it’s very obviously different.

Around the sides, it features a smaller version of the plastic Airbumps that also debuted on the Cactus, while at the back it actually looks quite conventional; nowhere near as brash as the front.

The interior follows the same design theme we’re familiar with from the Cactus, but it looks a bit more upscale than it did in that. It’s important to note that this new styling will become the norm throughout its lineup.

On top of this, the all-new C3 will be available with a total of 36 color combos: owners will be able to choose from three finishes for the contrasting roof, on top of the nine options for the car body; these color choices will be reflected inside, through painted trim bits.

Its range of turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines is comprised of all-new PureTech and HDi units with power ratings ranging from 67 hp to 110 hp.

The all-new C3 should start to be rolled out across European showrooms before the end of 2016.
