Dacia Duster bashed in poignant UK review

Reviewer keeps reverting to “but at least it’s cheap” to keep the car from sounding like a dud, which it really isn’t in our book

Dacia’s Duster has lackluster handling, poor comfort, no luxury features and the mirror adjustment knob can’t be operated when the handbrake is down. All downsides but all negligible when you take its price into account and realize just how much car you’re getting for not much money.

That’s the point that’s always been made about the Duster in all reviews we’ve ever seen featuring it. Now in this latest one by Mat Watson of carwow the formula is exactly the same, and even if he does sound like he’s bashing the car, it’s really his honest informed opinion.

Having used a Duster as a support vehicle here for over a year now, we’ve tried it out in many kinds of environments, from smooth highways to mountain roads and we even rode a few mountains in it. We totally agree with all that’s been said in the video, but for what it’s worth we say as a package it’s still viable.

Affordability aside, it’s really good off road, really good on fuel if you get the diesel, plus it’s got all the features you’d ever need (unless you go for the cheapo version that doesn’t even have air-con). We say it’s its off-road ability and subjectively speaking rugged good looks that really redeem the Duster when all is said and done.
