Special editions, special editions everywhere
Dodge has two new weapons aimed at interested buyers with not only looks but also performance tweaks to remind us of the good ol' days.
First up is the 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A, available with either the 6.4-liter '392' HEMI V8 good for 485 hp or the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 delivering 375 hp.
Furthermore, clients can get a piece of Dodge history via three different versions, namely T/A ($37,390), T/A Plus ($40,140) and T/A 392 ($43,995), with different goodies in the bag.
For instance, the simple T/A brings 'Air Catcher' headlights, an SRT Hellcat-borrowed airbox, and an electronically-controlled active performance exhaust setup. T/A Plus has heated and ventilated Nappa leather sports seats, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto.
For the T/A and T/A Plus Challengers, Dodge offers a Super Track Pak featuring high-performance Bilstein shock absorbers, performance brake linings and a lower suspension which takes the car half an inch closer to the ground.
Then there's the Challenger T/A 392, with extra 113 hp and 65 lb-ft increase in max torque, plus performance Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes with vented rotors.
Last but definitely not least, the Dodge Charger Daytona (starting at $39,890) offers three-mode ESC calibration with 'full off' and high-performance Goodyear Eagle F1 tires as part of the Super Track Pak, redesigned front and rear fascias plus the 'Daytona' body graphics, among others.
Finally, the Dodge Charger Daytona 392 derivative ($44,995) adds a Mopar conical air filter plus a 3.09 final drive with 230 mm limited-slip rear axle.
