EPA Rates Hydrogen Fuel Cell Honda Clarity’s Range at 366 Miles or 589 Km

It’s the world’s longest range electric vehicle

While the styling of the Honda Clarity FCV may not be impressive (quite the opposite, actually), its EPA-rated autonomy is. The US Environmental Protection Agency is officially announcing the fact that the Clarity has the best driving range of any electric vehicle without a combustion engine.

The official figure is 366 miles, or 589 km, and that puts it on par with conventional internal combustion engined car; its combined MPGe rating is 68.

Honda says it’s managed to shrink the fuel cell stack by a third compared to the one used in the FCX Clarity, while the vehicle features an integrated powertrain. This translates into ample room inside according to the manufacturer which is good as it needs more than one selling point when it hits US and European markets before the end of 2016.
