Euro NCAP: new Jeep Compass, Ford Fiesta, Mazda CX-5 earn top ratings

Is it just us or acing the Euro NCAP tests is rather easy these days?

Euro NCAP crash test results are in for another batch of new models.

The cars what underwent Euro NCAP's suite of controlled crashes include the likes of Jeep Compass, Ford Fiesta, Mazda CX-5, Mercedes-Benz C-Class cabrio, Renault Koleos and Opel/Vauxhall Grandland X.

All the above models secured five-star ratings, but Euro NCAP also tested the 2017 Opel/Vauxhall Ampera-e and Kia's 2017 Rio supermini.

The Ampera-e got four stars out of five while the Rio only managed to score three out of five stars after it lost serious points in the safety assist category (25%).

However, Kia can provide the Rio with an extended safety pack that straightens things and ups the rating to five stars, as safety assist goes up to 59%, adult occupant protection rises to 91% and pedestrian protection now stands at 71%.

We had the chance to drive some of the models mentioned above, so don't hesitate to check out the following reviews: Ford Fiesta, Jeep Compass, and Mazda CX-5.
