Mercedes says the AMG C-Class is the brand’s best selling model series so to keep that crown, the C 63 went through a routine nip and tuck.

Visually, Merc-AMG designers came up with an extra fin for the outside air catchers, redesigned side skirts and new aero wheels (18-inch, 10-spoke standard and 19-inch on S models).

The rear end was also tweaked via a new tailpipe trim and a more dramatic diffuser, plus a spoiler lip for the boot lid (this turns in a roof spoiler on the Estate variant). There’s also an optional AMG Aerodynamics pack that boosts the visuals (and air flow, of course) even more.

New for the facelifted Mercedes-AMG C 63 models are new cabin trims – open-pore oak wood, walnut and ash wood plus aluminum grain. On demand, AMG will provide their carbon fiber trim or fiberglass.

The flat-bottom steering wheel is also new, wrapped in Nappa leather and present on every AMG C 63 model. It also holds a pair of galvanized shift paddles. Down the AMG C 63’s guts is a new transmission – the nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G gearbox tuned to satisfy the driver’s requirements, says Mercedes-AMG. With it come six driving modes, as it follows: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Race and Individual.

Also tweaked is the AMG steel suspension with adjustable dampers, as is the limited-slip differential on the rear axle – this one becomes a standard piece of kit on all AMG C 63 models.

Under the hood hides the multi-purpose 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 harnessed into two power outputs: 350 kW (476 hp)/650 Nm on the AMG C 63 models and 375 kW (510 hp)/700 Nm on AMG C 63 S-badged versions.

These ones also get dynamic engine mounts that help appease vibrations and shocks in the engine and transmission by adjusting their rigidity accordingly.
