Fans Help Lotus Choose Livery for New Limited Edition Evora 400 Model

Only 10 units of the Lotus Evora 400 Blue & Orange Edition will be made

Lotus is trying to make its tailor-made division better known and is doing that by involving fans in the creation of a new limited edition model.

The Lotus Exclusive service invited fans from all over the world to choose a color scheme for a limited run Evora 400. Enthusiasts had to choose from a selection of paint schemes penned by Lotus' design team in a social media poll posted on the carmaker's Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. Proposals included both modern interpretations of classic automotive color combinations and some established Lotus liveries.

The winning design was the Blue & Orange edition which recalls the famous racing color scheme first used in the 1960s by teams sponsored by Gulf Oil. The blue body color is accented by orange and white decal stripes, contributing to a retro look. The black forged wheels and red brake calipers contribute to the car's distinctive appearance.

Inside, the color combination complements the exterior, with black leather upholstery set against orange stitching. Lotus only plans to build ten units of the Evora 400 Blue & Orange edition. No pricing information was offered, but Lotus expects the ten cars to sell quickly.

Nothing changes from a mechanical point of view, with the car featuring the same 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 400 PS (395 hp) and 410 Nm (302 lb-ft) of torque. Just like the regular Evora 400, the limited edition model goes from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just 4.1 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).

Lotus Exclusive can customize any Lotus model, covering everything from color coding through to race car preparation.
