Ferruccio Lamborghini Biopic Confirmed; Filming May Start this Summer

Ferruccio Lamborghini, the creator of the ubiquitous supercar brand bearing his surname, is now getting his very own biographical film

Ferruccio Lamborghini, the creator of the ubiquitous supercar brand bearing his surname, is usually only mentioned in relation to the Ferrari story, yet now he is getting his very own biographical film. He is famous for being a tractor manufacturer that one day decided he could make a better supercar than Ferrari.

The preliminary title for the film is “Lamborghini – The Legend” and according to Variety shooting begins this summer; this means it could debut in late 2017 – 2018.

Details are sparse at the moment but the source does quote Andrea Iervolino, the 28 year-old producer behind the project. He explains his choice and argues Mr. Lambo (who died in 1993) was “a pioneering businessman who brought honor to Italy and helped raise worldwide awareness for not just cars, but all products made in Italy. He started from scratch, relying only on his great passion and an unbridled desire to succeed in life – a desire he fulfilled.”

Iervolino is, along with Monika Bacardi, a co-founder of AMBI Pictures, a company that’s currently financing and producing a remake of Christopher Nolan’s “Memento.”
