Oh, boy!
Ford is thinking about spawning a special edition F-150 Raptor that would pack over 700 hp from the same 5.2-liter V8 found inside the Mustang GT500.
According to Car and Driver citing sources inside Ford, the Blue Oval is looking to build a special version of its F-150 Raptor.
How special? Well, rumor has it that the performance pickup truck is set to pack quite a hefty punch, in the form of the 5.2-liter V8 that powers the Shelby Mustang GT500.
This limited run will also symbolize the current generation F-150’s last hurrah and while we don’t know about you, we’re massively excited by the idea of a 700+ hp Raptor.
If it becomes a reality, then we should also expect the presence of the 10-speed automatic gearbox co-developed by Ford and General Motors.
According to the same source, the V8-powered F-150 Raptor will reach the market in 2020 “the earliest” and will have a rather short production life, with each unit expected to cost at least $70,000.
Will it be worth the sticker?
