Why? Because he wants to turn it into a drop-top, obviously

Car vlogger Jon Olsson wanted to turn his Mercedes G500 4×4² into something even more special so he’s proceeded to completely remove its roof.

The plan is to transform it into a completely open-top vehicle not necessarily for practical reasons, but rather to make the 4×4² stand out even more places like Monaco which are already overrun with poshness.

So far we don’t know what exactly it’s going to look like, but there is definitely potential in the formula just looking at the crudely chopped vehicle as it was shown in the video posted below.

There is still a lot of work to get everything looking nice, then all of the interior needs to be fitted in and adapted and that will definitely take more time and effort.

As a reminder, Mercedes launched the exclusive G500 4×4² back in 2015 priced from €231,000 / $274,000 and took the last order for one this October as it withdrew the model from production. Its power plant is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 similar to the one used in the AMG GT, it drives a seven-speed autobox – claimed sprint time to 100 km/h is 6.5 seconds, while top speed is 210 km/h / 130 mph.
