Here’s another subtle hint at the upcoming 2017 Audi A8 flagship

It comes as a video showcasing Audi’s AI traffic jam pilot

Audi being Audi, we don’t expect too much effervescence from the new A8 in terms of design, as it will most likely follow an evolutionary path.

The theory is confirmed by Ingolstadt’s latest sneak preview video, one that has two tasks: reveal just enough of the A8’s front end to keep the audience on its toes and exemplify how the traffic jam pilot works when the driver is not paying attention.

In a previous video showing the A8 parking itself, the sedan’s taillight, rear profile, and interior were partially revealed.

However, the most important bit of info on the new Audi A8 is related to the model’s mild hybrid capabilities. Word came straight from Audi, together with the mention that the carmaker will show the A8 on July 11, in Barcelona.

According to Ingolstadt’s literature, every A8 will incorporate a 48-volt alternator which will, among other things, allow a fuel consumption drop of 0.7 l/100 km.
