Talking about stepping out of one’s comfort zone

Just like many of its modern peers – regardless the carmaker badges they wear – Kia's Sorento SUV was not built with the less-beaten track in mind. Or was it?

There are off-roaders and there are SUVs. But what happens when these two worlds overlap? Well, it's hard to tell without a little experiment. Like, for example, taking an almost bone-stock Kia Sorento SUV up Hell's Gate in Moab, Utah, known as one of the most treacherous off-road trails out there. This is where autoedit comes into play.

The car featured in their video isn't exactly 100% stock, but it's close. You're looking at a 2019 Kia Sorento SX Limited which saw its factory wheels being replaced with BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. There's also a skid plate protecting the oil pan and at some point, the sway bars have been disconnected. Otherwise, you can say this is an urban stroller way out of its comfort zone.

So, who wins this one? The rocks or the Sorento?
