Video review answers the question

Considered the swan song of the current BMW F80 M3, the M3 CS is an apt tool both on and off the track. But is it the best M3?

Well, this question is very likely to light up a debate among BMW and car enthusiasts in general. So to save you of some of the arguing, the guys over at The Straight Pipes went for a drive in the 2018 BMW M3 CS.

Before we let them do their thing, here’s why the M3 CS is so special in the first place. For starters, only 1,200 units will be ever assembled, out of which 550 are reserved for the United States.

Secondly, it’s the most powerful BMW M3 you can buy new: its twin-turbo inline-six engine packs 460 PS (453 hp) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft).

Thirdly, it’s a showcase of how CFRP is gaining popularity thanks to a set of additional bits and bobs that adorn its exterior: front apron with integrated air intakes, a spoiler lip and a rear diffuser.

On the performance front, the BMW M3 CS can run the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) bracket in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).

If what’s it like to drive is your only dilemma now, head to the video below and find out.
