Ken Block’s Twin-Turbo Hoonicorn V2 Drinks Methanol, Produces 1,400 HP for Endless Tire Spinning

It looks like a crazy clown that can’t wait to kill you

Most people would not get bored of driving an 845 hp, all-wheel drive Mustang drift car. Not Ken Block, though.

The original version of the classic Mustang-based wide-body Hoonicorn he used in the Gymkhana Seven video no longer satisfied him, which is why Block has taken it to the workshop.

The result is called Hoonicorn V2, and it's a mad machine. Hoonigan Racing's engineers almost doubled the power developed by the Roush Yates 6.7-liter V8 engine, from 845 hp to a bonkers 1,400 hp! They did that by modifying it to run on methanol, with a methanol injection system replacing the standard intercooler setup.

Engineers also fitted Garrett twin turbochargers that push a massive 21 pounds of boost, with other modifications including a flame-spitting dual exhaust connected directly to the engine bay and piercing through the bonnet. All these enhancements take the Hoonicorn's performance to another level, as Ken Block himself acknowledges.

"It's frightening to drive. When it was naturally aspirated it was easy to modulate the power but not anymore, I really like that it's trying to kill me. It's like nothing I've ever driven. I'm relearning how to drive and sorta terrified from it," Block said.

Block's description of his new scary drift machine contrasts with the vehicle's lively paint scheme. The Hoonicorn V2 sports the U.S. flag on the engine hood, red and blue paint on the turbochargers, as well as stars on the front bumper, fenders, and doors. I don't know about you, but the image I get is of a mad clown wearing a colorful outfit that will kill you when the first opportunity arises.

What else is there to say about a car that throws flames through the engine hood?
