Kia Stinger GT maxed out on autobahn and measured against Mercedes AMG C43

It’s neck and neck

Kia Stinger is a serious premium contender not only in the luxury department, but also in terms of performance. There is almost nothing in it between a top tier Stinger GT and one of Mercedes’ very fast AMG C43 sedans.

AutoTopNL put the two alongside (which you can do via our Compare Cars feature) and while the C43 just seems to nudge ahead in terms of acceleration, the Kia recovers towards the top end and looks quite at home doing it.

As a reminder, the Stinger GT packs a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, sprints to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and its top speed is 270 km/h. The C43 has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 367 hp and its top speed is electronically pegged at 250 km/h.

The Kia is a bit heavier than the Mercedes (1,834 kg versus 1,690 kg) and this is where its more relentless acceleration stems from. But the Stinger is not far behind and since the Mercedes tops out earlier, on a long enough straight it will sail past.
